Born 1978 in Lyon,Pati was raised in an artists collective in Austria.Since she was a little child she was surrounded by art, which influenced her strongly and woke in her the passion for art in general and painting in particular. When she was 12 the collective disbanded and she moved to Zürich (Switzerland) with her parents, to complete her studies.Searching for a way to combine different artistic disciplines shestudied to be a physical actress and clown at the “Schule für Clowns” in Mainz (Germany)For the next 7 years Pati submerged into the world of theatre, cabaret, clowning and performance. Studying the ways of expression, movements and motions of the human being. She worked as a clown in hospitals, in a black and Light theatre, as performer in different own creations, as singer in cabaret shows and with the internationally renowned clown Jango Edwards.Since 2008 she decided to focus entirely on painting, integrating the experiences acquired in other artistic disciplines to it. Pati Dubois art is an investigation of the human soul, a search to visualize the conflict between inner perception and the surrounding world. The human figure is deconstructed and regrouped around leading lines, paste into repetitive patterns or broken apart by exploding and dripping colour. |
