This line of investigation, named after a famous movement in German literature and music of the second half of the 18. Century, has for theme the impact of emotions and feelings on all of us.
The often crude impact of it on our whole system is here represented by the liberty and wildness of the colour which explodes, drops and run rather freely through the paintings, always in contrast and/or harmony with the human figure, the shape which has to contain and bear all these inner torments
